Fond Deepdale Farewell! Enduroland Putoline Race XC Round 2 – Race Report & Results
It wasn’t the weather the club had planned for its possible finale at Deepdale but the decision to run regardless was the correct choice and although very testing and challenging, Friday’s heavy rain and rain Saturday certainly tested the team to the limit. A month of work at the venue paid dividends and the sheer determination of the kids auto class (who should be knighted) making for a rideable course on Saturday with no changes being made to the youth track on the day.
Once again Kieran Maunder pressed hard for another amazing win in the autos on his electric steed (Kuberg) to complete 4 laps of a huge loop with Finlay Roper in 2nd. Harry Jordan took 3rd and Lewis Homer in 4th. The lap times here will confirm just how tough it was ranging from 25 minutes right up to 40 minutes a lap for the auto stars! Kieran hitting a fastest lap of 22 minutes.Possibly one of their toughest races of the year!
The large 65cc class saw Ryan Stoneley once again take the 10 points with Archie Jordan close behind .Jake Homer was 3rd, followed by Eddie Belton, Oakley Skinner, Reece Giles, Rhys Hill, Alicia Conduct, Reece Parker, Lucas Marshall, Max Monk and Riley Hill.
In the Small Wheel Jayden Westcott took max points on 7 laps with Josh Knight 2nd and Archie Peters in 3rd followed by Callum Hughes, Paul Parker, Antonio Taylor, Jack Sandland and Kian Busa.
The Ward brothers hit up the Big Wheel class with Zac taking the win and Harvey in 3rd. Sandwiched between them Joe Cornelius took 2nd place all on 7 laps.William Belton, Kye Hasler, Morgan Kent, Kasper Collier and Morgan Plaskett finished the class.
The 125cc youth class was headed up once again by Jacob Roper with Finley Thompson around 4 minutes behind for 2nd. Kyle Saunders took 3rd and both Archie Gunton and Georgia Potter followed all on 8 tough laps. Max Brown, Olivia Knight and Jadyn Giles finished the class. A cracking 11 minutes plus lap for the top dogs in this ever increasing class.
The club raffle was won by Jack Sandland £50 cash.
The MOTOking Holeshot award for the 65cc class was Ryan Stoneley £50 MOTOking voucher.
With further rain overnight the club decided to cut the track changes to a minimum but still added all the fun hills and new drops and climbs to Saturdays loop.
A return to enduro and XC for Jake Bowden saw him take the top spot in the Experts with Ryan Hughes in 2nd, with Aston Day in 3rd. Jake hit an average 11 minutes plus on the revised loop. Lovely to see Norton TT rider Josh Brookes get a credible 4th place in the Experts.
The Clubman Plus missed Chris Hill this weekend with a midweek ‘fun ride’ injury, and new boy on the block Matthew Joyce took the win with club regular Kirk Giles in 2nd. Hopefully all three will be battling at Round 3.
The 125cc Open class saw Saturdays 2nd place rider Finley Thompson take podium top spot in the 2 hour race with Reilly Dennison in 2nd and Brightons Kyle Saunders in 3rd.
A superb ride from Northamptons Chris Bailey saw his first Clubman win with Dan Everson 2nd and Gary Curtis in 3rd.Chris being the only clubman rider on 10 laps.
Vets king Darren Bedford blasted 10 laps for the top spot with Toby Hall in 2nd and Andrew Sykes in 3rd. Toby also bashed out 10 laps just over a minute behind Darren. Should be close at Chacombe R3 for these guys.
A well deserved victory for Anthony Heatley in the Masters with Chris Day in 2nd and the popular paddy George Dennison in 3rd place. An unusual DNF for the masters king Mick Belcher saw him pointless on this occasion.
New boy James Badham took the Sportsman win with 9 laps followed by Nottinghamshire based John Parker and Ross Higgins in 2nd and 3rd.
A large Novice class was headed by Bryan Moore on 8 laps with Stuart Tucker in 2nd and Joe Barnes in 3rd.
The club £100 club raffle winner was Dan Everson.
