Double dose of Pickering power at Dean Moor! West Cumbria MXC Club Championships Round 4 and 5 – Race Report and Results

It was up north where the action was happening at the always picturesque Dean Moor circuit near Workington for rounds 4 and 5 of the 2019 West Cumbria MX club championship.

As always the Autos were up first and Jude Richards took the first maximum of the weekend taking all three wins from second placed Kyle Graham. Ricky Barrack finished the day in third spot.

In the Junior 65 category, Finley Pickering took his Yamaha to three wins and the biggest trophy for his trophy cabinet leaving Finley Easton to settle for runner up this time around. Third went to Corey Hull.

It was Thomas Carruthers that took the Small Wheel 85 class victory with two wins and a second from last race winner and championship leader Liam Johnston. North Easterner Ryan Lowes finished a solid third overall.

It was a mixed bag of results for the Big Wheel 85 class with three different winners over the day. Bobby Jak Ennis came out on top overall however fending off Robbie Park and Grace Richards for the honours.

Again three different winners in the Youth Open races and Jack Abbott came out on top with a 2-2-1 card by two points from Jake Sharkey, Adam Slavin came home with third on the podium.

Steve Riley dominated the Over 30 class taking maximum points and another three wins. Stephen Humphries took the runner up spot and Mike Charlton rounded off the top three in third.

It was Bradley Owens who took the Adult C class overall win with a hat trick of wins from George Leach in second and Thomas Lawrence took the final rostrum spot.

Austin Mowbray took his KTM to the Adult B class overall with three dominant rides. Kev Brown took the runner up position with Stuart Mowbray finishing the day in third.

2 stroke mounted Graham Riley took three race wins for the Adult A victory on day one with last years champ Frazer Clark claiming runner up on his Suzuki. Joe Hodgson took home third after a final race mishap.

Day two started with a freshly graded track and a paddock full of fired up riders ready for action.

Jude Richards carried on from the three wins on Saturday to take two more wins and a second for the overall in the Auto class ahead of final race winner Kyle Graham. Ricky Barrack took another third place trophy home.

Finley Pickering made it six wins out of six in the Junior 65 class with Finley Easton taking yet another runner up spot but solid points for his championship run. Corey Hull finished third overall.

In the Small Wheel 85 category, Liam Johnston turned around his Saturday results and put in a maximum points haul. Thomas Carruthers took the runner up spot on the tied break with Ryan Lowes.

It was Robbie Park who took two wins split by a second race second spot to take the honours in the Big Wheel 85 class from race two winner Grace Richards. Saturday winner Bobby Jak Ennis was third.

Next up were the Youth Open riders and Jack Abbott took the overall victory by one point from Jake Sharkey who took a 1-4-1 card home. Adam Slavin finished third overall.

In the Over 30 category Dale O’Connor took maximum points with Stephen Humphries hot on his heels for the runner up position. Stephen Dawson rounded out the top three.

Bradley Owens took another Adult C overall win with three more race victories from runner up Todd Ingram. Ryan Shepherd took his Honda to third spot.

In the Adult B class Ben Walsh showed dominance as he romped to three fairly easy wins from former Youth champ Ellis Murray. Kev Brown consolidated his championship lead with a third.

It was Graham Riley that took his KTM to top honours in the Adult A class from Frazer Clark second tied on points with Joe Hodgson in third.
