Dirt Track Events are ready to go racing in 2021 – Entries now open

Entries are now open for rounds 1 and 2 of the 2021 Dirt Track Events Nora Championship series which kicks off at Redcar Speedway on the 1st and 2nd May.
Nora Championship Classes for the inaugural series are Sidecars, Youth (up to 150cc), Quads & GT 140 with support classes of Flat Track & Mini Bikes.

Check out the below for all of the info for their 2021 race dates rules and venues…

📆 Dates & Venues
⁃ 25th April: practice day at Kings Lynn Stadium
⁃ 1st & 2nd May: rounds 1 & 2 of the championship at Redcar Speedway
⁃ 15th & 16th May: rounds 3 & 4 of the championship at TBC
⁃ 10th & 11th July: rounds 5 & 6 of the championship at Kings Lynn Stadium
⁃ 5th June: individual summer meeting at Leicester Speedway (a fun summer blowout, not part of the championship rounds)
⁃ 9th & 10th October: season finale at Kings Lynn Stadium (another fun blowout, and on the Saturday night we will host our championship awards presentation)

Camping will be available for all double rounds. Timings will be communicated in advance of each date. Please note, you can’t drop a round in the championship. All championship rounds will contribute towards the championship points and if you miss a round then your overall points will be impacted.

NORA championship classes:
Sidecars, Youth (up to 150cc), Quads & GT 140
Support classes:
Flat Track & Mini Bikes
All bike regulations will be available on our website and the NORA website. Sidecars and Youth will run with helmet colours.

⁃ You must book in for each round. A link to book in to each round will be sent via email shortly.
⁃ Entry is exclusive to members only and all members have a guaranteed space at every round.
⁃ Entry will open up to non-members 2 weeks before each event date if not already filled by the members. Please make sure you enter the events before this deadline or your space will be taken by a non-member as we have a big waiting list.

⁃ All riders in all classes MUST have a NORA 2021 license.
⁃ Adults should choose the ‘Adult Competition’ license which covers all classes. Youth should choose the ‘150 Oval’ license.
⁃ We encourage you to purchase an annual license which covers you for the year, but day licenses will be available at each round if needed.
⁃ We encourage you to upgrade to the ‘advanced’ license with NORA to include personal accident insurance.

⁃ Dirt Track Events race bibs are compulsory and must be worn by all riders.
⁃ These are included in your membership and will be handed out at the first race meeting (1st May – Redcar Speedway).
⁃ For any non-members who are racing, there will be bibs available to hire at each round.
⁃ There will be a special GOLDEN race bib to compete for at the first round! The winner of each class will earn the right to wear the golden bib at the next meeting. Watch out, if you don’t win again then this will be stolen from you by another rider…!

Covid Rules
⁃ In line with current government regulations, we will not be allowing spectators until further notice.
⁃ For adult riders, please only bring 1 other adult with you (mechanic/partner). You are allowed to bring your children too if needed.
⁃ For youth riders, immediate family is allowed to support them.
⁃ We will keep you updated throughout the season if there’s any changes and when the rules are relaxed.

⁃ Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd & 3rd at each round (for all classes).
⁃ Trophies will also be awarded at the end of the season awards night for the overall winners (for all classes). The NORA championship class winners will earn the title of NORA British Champion, and the support class winners will earn the title of Dirt Track Events National Champion. The overall winners will also get to keep the golden race bib.
