The Small Wheel 85’s were a bit low on numbers but that takes nothing away from Tyler Kirby who stole the show with a three-ride win maximum and the overall from Max Hoard in second and Charlie Gutteridge in third.
In stark contrast to the Small Wheelers, the Big Wheel 85 class was packed to the rafters. Josh Bassett was a class act in this group posting a 1-1-1 scorecard for the overall. James O’Mara got the better of Oliver Ruddock for second overall, with great rides from both of these lads.
Thomas Casbeard was a dominant force in the Rookies, and was another racer who took all three race wins, and the top step of the podium at the end of the day. Liam Brosnan rode well all day for second, while Billy Simpson was third.
Factory Phil Mercer gets better with age and stormed to a full house in the Over 40’s Vets group from Rupert Heaton second, and Mark Withers third.
Another maximum man was Steve Wells in the Over 50’s Vets. Dave Hamer pitched in with three strong rides for second, while Carl Hutchings claimed the third podium position.
The Adult B class was rammed and Keith Melsome was the clear winner in each moto and the overall. Lee Sims kept it consistent for second with Adam Barfoot third.
Charlie Cole looked a class act in the Adult A class and was blisteringly fast as he notched up three perfect wins for the overall, meaning that every class over the day was won with a maximum. Bradley Barfoot fended off the rest of the talent-packed group finishing second with Craig Daffin doing the business for third.
The club now move onto the second round of the series at Swanmore on Sunday 7th April. For more info on the club go to http://www.hampshire-motocross-club.co.uk/
