Askew awesome at Buttercup! Peterborough Junior Motocross Club Championships Round 1 – Race Report and Results
It was a windy day at Buttercup Farm following a week of rain, so track conditions were challenging, for the first round of the Peterborough Junior Motocross Clubs, first club championship round which attracted a good turnout of riders old and new, which made for a great meeting.

The Auto riders were out first with girl power taking the top spot with a maximum 3 wins from Olivia Reynolds followed by Casey Lister taking runner up spot, followed by Brooklyn and Charlie Hellmers White.
Juniors were up next, with some good racing in this one, which saw Reece Jones taking the overall, chased hard by Alfie Geddes Green in second place with Diesel Jackson taking the 3rd spot on the podium.
Small wheel 85s were next, giving great racing on a slowly worsening track. Billy Askew took the top spot over Chester Hyde with Teddy Hyde just behind in 3rd.
Sean Smith dominated the Vets over 35s class with an easy maximum. The runner up was John Barnes and Stephen Marlow just pipping Sean Hodgson for 3rd spot.
Big wheel 85s split the Adult classes, with some good racing here. Arai Elcock took a maximum with Ronnie Reeves taking a solid 2nd and Louie Evans 3rd.
The Adult open was the race to watch as some talented riders turned up with Rob Yates taking 3 wins with George Turner battling for 2nd, Bradley Skinner 3rd and Matty White 4th.
The Youth group were the last out on track, with a good turnout of riders and some fast racing the top spot went to Ben Clark with Travis Steels just edging Sonny Smyth into 3rd.
The second round of the championship takes place at Buttercup on the 14th April.
