2021 MX Nationals, dates, classes, live streaming…

The Michelin MX Nationals British Motocross Championships have been quick off the mark in announcing their plans, dates and changes for their 2021 series.

With the dirt hardly settling on the 2020 Championship an announcement, on their facebook page last night revealed they are making changes to their classes, reducing the number of races and that Pros will be racing on Saturday and Sunday.

The full list of classes are

Open 85cc
Youth MXY1 and MXY2 – Racing Together
Clubman MX1 and MX2 – Racing Together
Amateur MX1 and MX2 – Racing Together
Expert MX1 and MX2 – Racing Together on the Sunday
Fastest 40 – Pro MX1 and MX2

On Saturday though the Pro racers will be mixed in with the Expert classes, so there will be a 40 X Expert and Pro MX1 riders for two races and 40 X Expert and Pro MX2 riders for two races. Then on Sunday it will revert to the Fastest 40 with the 20 MX1 and MX2 Pro’s racing in the same motos.

Live streaming is back after popular demand but this year it is FREE. Yep that’s a big one and a great opportunity for riders to showcase their skills to a wider audience as well as making the sport more accessible for everyone to watch in this country.

Venues being mentioned are Canada Heights, Landrake, Hawkstone and Desert Martin, and with the Straight Rhythm also back for its third year Cusses Gorse also looks a shoe-in.

The dates are confirmed and are as follows

Round 1 – 2nd, 3rd, 4th & 5th April
Round 2 – 1st, 2nd & 3rd May
Round 3 – 5th & 6th June
Round 4 – 3rd & 4th July
Round 5 – 28th, 29th & 30th August
Round 6 – 25th & 26th September
