The full statement released from the organisers reads…

“😭 Last night, on June 17, 2020, 18:30, we took one of our most painful decisions ever : After weeks of battling the odds 💯 and ten months of preparing our Vertical Madness Edition ↗️↗️, it became obvious that we were losing the race against time & Corona. Until the last minute (18:29…), the majority of us saw a decent chance for a “normal” execution of the 2020 Red Bull Romaniacs – at the original date of July 21-25. For months we had been dreaming about re-uniting our Hard-Enduro family after the crisis and unleash our international competitors onto our racetrack 🏁🏁🏁.

Unfortunately we finished the race against Corona in second place, short by just a couple of extra weeks, maybe days, because the recent loosening of anti-Corona restrictions in Romania have been slower than expected.

Our biggest challenge remains the restrictions on travel to and from Romania ✈️✈️✈️, which makes it difficult to impossible for a large percentage of our competitors to attend the Red Bull Romaniacs in July.

Therefore, last night, we decided to flip the switch, to postpone the event – and immediately informed our participants, that the July 21 date was no longer possible 😳😳.

We are now evaluating our backup date candidates and will announce the new event date shortly 🙏🙏🙏
