Sensational Culham weekender! East Anglia SSC Summer Champs Round 10 & 11 – Race Report and Results

EASSC travelled to Culham for rounds 10 and 11 of the championship. The riders and spectators were pleased to have made the journey and were rewarded with sensational racing and the weather staying dry. Culham track is a tough and demanding track, but is also one to enjoy as the competition heats up.

The first group out were MX2 and it set the scene for a great weekend of racing. In race one Charlie Putman got away to a flying start and soon pulled away from the pack. He raced with style and confidence to take the win. Ryan Allison was working hard to chase him down and took second with Aaron Ongley third. Race two saw Charlie Putman have another strong ride to take the win, with the battle for the next spots taking place behind him. Four strong riders continuously dicing with one another all hungry for the points. Todd Ritchie rode an exceptional race to take second with Aaron Ongley seeing off the competition for third. In race three Charlie Putman again took a confident race win with Aaron Ongley a very well ridden second and Toby Avis third. Overall results for the day Charlie Putman, Aaron Ongley and Toby Avis.

Troy McGilley – Autos

Next out were the Vets and again some strong battles going on throughout the pack. In race one Paul Willis and Lee Tolan were to have great battle for the top spot with Paul Willis being able to pull a gap and take the win, Lee Tolan second and Martin Wilson third. In race two Paul Willis pulled away to take the win with Andy Philpott second and Sid Richardson third. Race three saw Paul Willis take another strong win with Lee Tolan second and Martin Wilson third. Overall results for the day Paul Willis, Lee Tolan and Martin Wilson.

MX1 were next up and this race didn’t disappoint the spectators. Some supreme riding was witnessed throughout the field, all hungry for the racing. Race one saw Ryan Watts and Darryl Maxwell challenging one another with Ryan holding off Darryl for the win, with Darryl second and Connor Dennis third. In race two Darryl Maxwell rode a solid and strong race to take the win with Ryan Watts working hard to chase him down for second and Shaun Springer third. Race three saw another strong ride by Darryl Maxwell taking the win with Ryan Watts second and Shaun Springer third. Overall results for the day Darry Maxwell, Ryan Watts and Shaun Springer.

Next out were the Autos and they were definitely ready to race. In race one Alfie Geddis – Green got off to a fantastic stat and was able to pull away from the other riders. Alfie took the win with Jake Webb second and Tommie Perfect third. Race two saw another outstanding ride by Alfie Geddis – Green to take the win with Rylee Mortimer a well-deserved second and Tommie Perfect third. In race three Alfie took another strong win with Jake Webb second and Bailey Williams third. Overall results for the day Alfie Geddis – Green, Jake Webb and Tommie Perfect.

Aaron Ongley

The Junior class saw a many strong races throughout the pack with spectators having a great deal of racing battles to watch. In race one the top three places were riding hard to chase one another down, with Harvey Antrobus taking the win, Kai Thorpe second and Charlie Richmond third. Race two saw Harvey Antrobus get a strong start and pull away to take the win with Charlie Richmond second and Ben Casey third. In race three Charlie Richmond rode an outstanding race to take the win with Ki Thorpe second and Harvey Antrobus third. Overall results for the day Harvey Antrobus, Charlie Richmond and Kai Thorpe.

The Small Wheel 85 were out next seeing some spectacular battles throughout the class. In race one Tye Jones got to the front and pulled an impressive lead to take a commanding win with Bayliss Utting second and Jamie Collins third. Race two saw Bayliss Utting take his opportunity and the win with Tye Jones second and Jamie Collins third. In race three Tye Jones was back to winning ways with another strong win with Bayliss Utting second and Liam Bennett third. Overall results for the day Tye Jones, Bayliss Utting and Jamie Collins.

The Big wheel 85 class as next out and what a battle for the top spot it was. In race one Tom Sedgwick and Tom Harris were battling hard from the drop of the gates right through to the flag. Tom Sedgwick took the win with Tom Harris second and Callum Murfitt third. Race two saw the battle recommence between Tom Sedgwick and Tom Harris, this time with Tom Harris pulling a gap to take the win, Tom Sedgwick second and Will Farrow third. In race three it was all to race for and again Tom Sedgwick and Tom Harris were ready to battle. This time Tom Sedgwick was able to pull a gap to take the win with Tom Harris second and Will farrow and strong ride for third. Overall result for the day Tom Sedgwick, Tom Harris and Will Farrow.

Darryl Maxwell MX1

The final group out for the day were the Youth Open class. In race one Todd Leadbitter rode an exceptional and dominating race to take the win with Casey Lambely second and Sam Ongley third. Race two saw Todd Leadbitter ride another solid race to take the win by some margin with Sam Ongley second and Casey Lambely third. In race three Todd Leadbitter did it again to take a strong win with Sam Ongley second and Sam Howland third. Overall results for the day Todd Leadbitter, Sam Ongley and Casey Lambely.

Day Two

Day two saw the Youth and 125 class get the racing underway and it was fierce from the start. In race one Sam Ongley rode an outstanding race to take the win with Aaron Patstone second and Sam Howland third. In race two Aaron Patstone took the lead with Sam Ongley chasing him down all the way to the line. Aaron took the win with Sam second and Adam Caroleo third. In race three Aaron Patstone was able to pull a gap but Sam Ongley wasn’t going to let that stop him and worked hard to close the gap but it wasn’t quite enough. Aaron took and well deserved win with Sam Ongley second and Casey Lambely third. Overall results for the day Aaron Patstone, Sam Ongley and Sam Howland.

Next out were the MX2 class and this was an exciting race to watch. In race one Charlie Putman was able to take the lead and pull a small gap between himself and the other competitors. Charlie took the win with the battle for second and third taking place between three of the riders. With some nail biting racing to watch it was Todd Ritchie who fought of the competition to take second and Ryan Allison third. Race two saw Charlie Putman again pull away from the remainder of the field but this time Aaron Ongley was chasing him throughout to close the gap. Charlie rode a solid race to take the win with Aaron second and Todd Ritchie third. Race three saw a Charlie Putman again take the lead and pull away from the field, with Aaron Ongley closing the gap with each lap. Charlie took the win, Aaron second and Todd Ritchie third. Overall results for the day Charlie Putman, Aaron Ongley and Todd Ritchie.

Next out were the Vets, with Paul Willis working hard to take the race win, Martin Wilson second and Sid Richardson third. In race two Paul Willis took the lead and held on to it throughout the race to take the win with Martin Wilson second and Sid Richardson third. Race three saw another master class performance by Paul Willis to take the win, Andy Philpott and well-earned second and Martin Wilson third. Overall results for the day Paul Willis, Martin Wilson and Andy Philpott.

MX1 were out next and the top three riders were outstanding. In each of the three races Darryl Maxwell got an excellent start and was able to pull away from the other racers. Darryl took each of the three wins with Connor Dennis taking a dominant second in each of the races and Piers Skinner third in each race. Overall results for the day Darryl Maxwell, Connor Dennis and Piers Skinner.

Next out were the Autos and each of them were hungry for victory. In race one Jake Webb rode an exceptional race to take a strong win with Alfie Geddis – Green second and Bailey Williams third. Race two saw Alfie Geddis – Green back to his winning ways taking the win with Jake Webb second and Bailey Williams third. Race three saw another strong performance by Alfie Geddis – Green to take the win, Jake Webb and very well ridden race for second and Tommie Perfect third. Overall results for the day Alfie Geddis – Green, Jake Webb and Bailey Williams.

Junior class were out next and there was plenty of action taking place in each of the races. In race one Harvey Antrobus rode a solid race to take the win with Kai Thorpe second and Ben Casey third. Race two saw Harvey Antrobus ride another strong race to take the win with Charlie Richmond second and Kai Thorpe third. In race three Kai Thorpe rode a hard and solid race to take the win with Charlie Richmond second and Ben Casey third. Overall results for the day Kai Thorpe, Harvey Antrobus and Charlie Richmond.

Next out were the Small wheel 85 class and each of them were hungry for the win. Race one saw Tye Jones ride a solid race to take an outstanding win with Bayliss Utting second and Liam Bennett third. Race two again saw Tye Jones take the lead and be able to pull away from the remaining riders to take the win, with Bayliss Utting second and Charlie Nudds third. In race three Tye Jones was able to demonstrate a clean sweep with another class performance with Bayliss Utting second and Charlie Nudds third. Overall results for the day Tye Jones, Bayliss Utting and Charlie Nudds.

Last out were the Big wheel 85 riders and the battles were intense. In race one Tom Sedgwick and Tom Harris were head to head and the racing was immense. Tom Harris was able to take the lead for the win with Tom Sedgwick second Will Farrow third. In race two tom Sedgwick took the lead and there was no looking back. He took a comfortable win with Will Farrow second and Dexter Millbourne third. Race three saw Tom Harris back to his winning ways with a commanding win, Tom Sedgwick second and Harrison Forde third. Overall results for the day Tom Sedgwick, Dexter Millbourne and Leon Ongley.
