Carpenter carves up West Meon. Ringwood MXC Club Championships Round 3 – Race Report & Results

by adminMay 17, 2018

Aside from a few off track drama’s, the racing started on time on a well watered West Meon circuit for round 3 of Ringwood MXC’s club championship.

By the end of the meeting though dust was starting to show with the glorious sunshine making it a tremendous day for racing.

It was a great day at the office for Jayden Neal in the Auto’s who triumphed in the first two moto’s to take the overall. Rocco Somerville used his consistency to his advantage and raced to a trio of runners up spot’s for second overall, whilst Toby Bond progressed as the day went on winning the final moto and taking the final spot on the overall podium.

Scott Harris won the Junior 65cc contest, with Moto wins in the first and last races, with Lewis Collins splitting his wins with a Moto 2 victory for second overall.  Blu Kinch was another rider who blossomed as the day went on coming home in third in Moto 3 which earned him a trip to the podium in the number 3 spot.

In the Small Wheel’s it was Henry Life who reigned supreme with a triple moto winning day, with Riley Saunders second and Dylan Fayers in third.

It was a dominant performance for Charlie Nightingale in the Big Wheel 85’s and he got his nose in front in all three moto’s for clean sweep of wins and the overall. The tussle for second was a close fought thing but James O’Mara eked out the second position by defeating his rival Oliver Kilgour in the final race. Kligour would take third.

It was full on at the front of the field in the Rookie class with Jack Carpenter managing to pull off three hard fought race wins, having to overcome the battling Ryan Tanner for the victory in each moto. Tanner would finish each moto in second for the Number 2 spot on the podium with Travis Reynolds in third.

The MX1 class was super competitive and Jamie Dixon pulled out all of the stops to win the opening two Moto’s which was enough to see him take the overall. Sam Lycett suffered big time from opening moto blues which meant his second in race 2 and a final moto win was only enough for 4th overall.  Sandwiched in between the race winners were Scott Newham who rode well for second overall and Dean Cummings in third.

George Smith made a successful visit to the Ringwood club by winning the MX2 class but Tallon Aspden made sure he didn’t go home with all of the race win’s under his arm by taking the chequered flag in the final moto for second overall with Thomas Shutler in third.

Steve Lyons was the man to beat in the Vet’s and rifled to three wins and the Top place on the podium, but Lewis Scard showed great speed and made good with second overall with Darren Miles in third.  Usual Vets front runner Peter Skevington had a big off so didn’t complete his three rides so we wish him a speedy recovery.

Next up for the Ringwood club is a Two Dayer at Tincleton, near Dorchester over the Whitsun weekend 27th and 28th May with both days being point scoring rounds of the club championships.
