In MX1, FUS FRO CPS Husqvarna ace Luke Burton leads the way, 54 points clear of Belgian Frederic Weigert. Over in MX2, Ray Rowson on the Apex Geartec KTM blasted to a double race win and thus also take over at the top of the standings. Ray is now on 730 points, 28 clear of fellow Brit Josh Waterman.
Last Sunday, MX1 were in action at Ohlenberg, Germany where Burton went 2/3/1 for 2nd overall. Of the fellow Brits, Ed Briscoe was the next best, his highest placing being 6th in moto two. Andrew Smart started with an 11th whilst both Scott Bates(13th) and Joshua Scott(15th) had their best result in the final moto. This weekend, MX1 go to Huldenberg in Belgium.
Unfortunately the MX2 event in Beggingen, Switzerland was abandoned when a local support class rider was fatally injured. In the two IMBA moto’s that was completed though, Ray Rowson took both wins whilst Lewis King on the TMC Kawasaki went 3/2 for a super 2nd overall. Brad Tranter after leading moto one recorded a strong 7/6 but for Josh Waterman it was not such a happy day! In race one he had to work hard for 6th before then overjumping a leap in the second clash and landing off the track! Unable to quickly rejoin proceedings, a frustrated Josh lost numerous places before eventually getting back to 10th at the finish. For MX2 the next destination in their title quest is Recoaro, Italy on Sunday.
