Team Owner Rusty Griffiths gives us the lowdown…

“Motofamily racing traveled to Kettering to Champs PARC for the Minibike National on the 24th and 25th March. We had a few set backs weeks before with the weather and parts not arriving but we got it together to start the weekend. Our rider Ethan Lochrie went out on our Motofamily race development Kuberg pro 50 in practice for the first time this year in the 125 youth Jnr group. We made some good progress through practice and qualifying and came over the line in 6th in group. Ethan looks comfortable and smooth on the MER Kuberg pro 50, and we were blown away with the confidence he shown all weekend.

In the First moto on Saturday we had a half decent jump out the gate in mid pack.  The field was packed with class of riders and Ethan pushed hard making no mistakes to get from 8th and 4th in his group. In the Second moto the aim for Ethan was to get a better gate yet to enjoy himself and after a few changes to the bike he pushed on to finish another 8th and another 4th in his group.

After a good charge, a couple changes and a happy pilot we set off for the 3 motos on the Sunday. The track was perfect once again, Jamie and the team at Minibike Champs had made a fantastic venue. The first moto was very similar to the last 2 but a bad gate left Ethan chasing the pack to grab a 9th in class and 5th in group. The second moto we had a good jump, kept pushing. Deep ruts and sharp bumps the lap times were slowing down, and it gave all the riders something extra to think about. Ethan rode smooth and consistently all race coming over the line in 8th, 4th in group. In the last race we had a good jump, similar to the second moto. Ethan worked hard and kept smooth giving himself another 4th in class with the team overwhelmed in getting a 4th overall.

As a team at Motofamily Racing we know the highs and lows in motocross racing, this weekend we achieved and grew confidence in the technology and parts we have developed. We can’t thank all our sponsors enough for their massive support, without you guys we couldn’t achieve any of this.
