With an even bigger entry than round 1, the decision was made to split the main race into two and have a 50cc/65cc race and an 85cc to open Race to follow the ever-popular Novice race for Newcomers & Beginners.
Race 1, for the Novice riders, started with 50 riders across all classes including Fun bikes and Trials bikes. The 30 minute race was just long enough and the shorter course saw the top riders completing 11 Laps with Sean Jones on his 85cc KTM taking the overall win 30 seconds ahead of Deiniol Davies.
Some of the local riders competing in their 1st ever event were Tommy Lewis from Llanbister, winning the Fun bike 50cc Class. Harry Jones from Llanidloes finished 3rd in the 50cc class and James Jervis also of Llanidloes taking 3rd place in the Open Fun bike Class. Katie Little from Lampeter and Roxie Roberts were some of the girls having a go after watching their older brothers ride round 1!
Ryan Jones matched his result from Rd 1 and won the 65cc Class just 9 seconds ahead of Reuben Price both from Builth Wells.
Phoebe Bonwich-Smith managed 5 laps on her Electric Trials Bike.
Race 2 was a longer race at 1hr 15m on a longer course. Riders were set off in 2 groups with Rees Jones of Llanidloes setting the pace off the start on his KTM 65. The top 4 riders were consistent throughout the race with Rees Jones finishing 3rd on 15 laps, Sion Wright of Llanafan 2nd and newcomer to Rd 2 Jobi Caddick taking the win, both on 16 Laps. Chloe Price of Llandod was the top placed girl in Race 2.
The 50cc class saw Oliver Bebb of Llanidloes lead from start to finish ahead Harrison Rees of Rhayader, both completed 14 laps. nearest rival Sean Smout of Caersws completed 12 laps.
Race 3 also saw 50 riders across the classes from 85cc to 150cc bikes. A slightly longer course again accommodated the number of riders with the same race time of 1hr 15m.
The Big wheeled 85cc class was the biggest class of the day with 24 competitors lining up.
Trystan Williams held his lead from Tom Wright who was hot on his heals throughout the race. Jack Probert and Tomos Kear had their own battle for 3rd place with Jack coming out on top.
Adam Thomas and Alfie Smith finished just 15 seconds apart ahead of Dewi Little of Lampeter who matched his 3rd place finish from Rd1 in the SW 85cc Class. With Tamsin Evans finishing 14th and Top placed Female Rider for Race 3.
Matthew Harries of Aberaeron took the top honours for both the Open class and the Overall win for Race 3 lapping the whole field. Bradley Price from Builth Wells finished 3rd. Rhys Fraser made the trip with 6 others from Cornwall to take 6th place.
The club would like to thanks all parents, riders and spectators for making the event such a success.
Next Round will take place on Saturday 6th October.
