Second round lucky! Formula Grasstrack Championships Round 2 – Preview
Wrekin Club host round 2 of the 2018 FGA season which will be the first one of the year, after Whitchurch’s meeting was washed out 3 weeks ago.
The famous Chetton venue which has played host to many Grasstrack events over the years has become a regular circuit for the FGA and will no doubt produce some fantastic racing to kick off the season.
Auto Cadet champion Oliver Binns will aim to continue where he left off in 2017 but will have to fend off Harry Fletcher who starts his first full season in the sport.
Junior double champion Sam Hall will have to fend off Evesham’s Eli Meadows and 2017 bronze medallist Katie Gordon as well as Cub Champion Billy Budd who will be racing against the juniors being the only cub entered. Budd will be one to watch with a superb performance in 2017 often challenging the juniors for the win in the heats.
Reigning Senior champion Ryan Ashcroft tops the list of the premier class with younger sibling Liam in hot pursuit. The brothers have been in regular action in the 500 & 350 classes this year respectively which will aid their hopes of victory. Shropshire’s Glyn Stanton and Martin Adams will be aiming to kick off their Fga calender in good form after a tough start to the mainstream Grasstrack. 250cc returnee Colin How is returning to the 125cc class after missing most of 2017 due to injury & Wrekin stalwart Marcus Crutchington will be aiming to continue his good form from 2017.
Venue: Tedstill House Farm, Middleton Scriven, Chetton, Bridgnorth WV16 6AH
