FEATURE RACER UPDATE – JAMES HARTLEY – MASTERS QUALIFIER, NEW ARRIVAL & MORE…
Here’s the latest from our feature Grasstrack Racer James Hartley and everyone at Dirt Hub would like to congratulate him and his partner on the birth of their Daughter.
“It’s now been 2 months since the birth of my daughter, and after taking some time away from racing to spend with the family, I’ve raced twice in two weeks and we are back out again this Sunday (30th July) for the British clubmans championship. After some deliberation and one thing after another, we are in the meeting, and looking forward to getting on the bike as ever.
I rode at the Master of Midshires meeting at the start of the month, and it didn’t really go well for me, I was really quite ill, and my bike wasn’t having a good day, coupled with red hot weather, I just ran out of energy and really just rode badly! Putting that behind, I raced the following week at the Frittenden pairs meeting! I was really excited coming into the meeting as it was a team event, something we don’t really see a lot of in grasstrack these days! I was paired with young talent Connor Locke, and together we both rode really well, bad starts really hampered our day a little bit, and we missed out on the final by one solitary point which was disappointing. All in all though it was a good meeting for me, I was out on a new bike and a different engine from normal and it all seemed to click, and I felt like I was riding somewhere near to where I should be, not too far off the leading pack, and in such a strong meeting I was pleased about that. We move onto the next one!!
There has also been some speculation that I’m retiring from the sport, I just want to say that that isn’t true. While my bikes have been up for sale, it is to fund some new ventures within the sport, so watch this space!! I’d never say that I’m retiring because once the racing bug bites, giving up is just not an option! Racing is my life 🤙🏻“
If all goes to plan James will be a doing a team takeover and posting direct to our Facebook page tomorrow (Sunday 30th July) as he looks to win the British Clubman Grasstrack title and Pickering and qualify through to the big one…The British Masters. Best of Luck James
