Doing the Donut! Southend Donut Grasstrack – Race Report and Results
The ‘Donut’ meeting held by Southend DMCC once again provided a slightly (and only very slightly) more friendly approach to Grasstrack racing on Sunday, with a healthy line up of riders showing just how much of an attraction this event has become.

As has been reported this week, Youth Grasstrack is building something of a resurgence in the Eastern centre, and so the meeting was well supported by children’s racing. The Auto Cadets class was won by the sensation of 2017 George Colvin.
The Junior class looked particularly healthy, with Inters racer Sam Norris lining up with the Junior class. It was Cameron Taylor who once again showed his dominance in the Junior class, winning yet another meeting. Some fine racing throughout the day was witnessed in the Juniors.
The adults results can all be found below also, with one particular highlight of note being a maximum for young 250cc rider Arran Butcher. The youngster has been plagued with mechanical gremlins this season, so this meeting win will do him the world of good.
Lee Jones celebrated qualifying for the British Masters last weekend by winning the 1000cc sidecar class.
So…the hard-working souls at Southend DMCC, Mid Cornwall Premier MCC and GTSA have proved that it is possible to run three successful grasstracks on the same day…not advisable…but possible! A huge well done to everyone involved in the sport for managing to pull off a bumper weekend of Grasstrack racing across the country.
