Liam Ashcroft scorched to a full house of race wins in a sizzling season opener for the FGA at Wrekin club’s opening meeting of the year.

Rain plagued the initial opening meeting which was cancelled at the end of April, but conditions couldn’t be different at the Chetton venue last Saturday.
In the Auto Cadets, 2017 champion Ollie Binns stormed to a 7 Ride maximum over Bilbrook’s Harry Fletcher. Binns is clearly one to watch for the future after starting only his 2nd full season in the sport. Second round lucky! Formula Grasstrack Championships Round 2 – Preview
Wrekin Club host round 2 of the 2018 FGA season which will be the first one of the year, after Whitchurch’s meeting was washed out 3 weeks ago.

The famous Chetton venue which has played host to many Grasstrack events over the years has become a regular circuit for the FGA and will no doubt produce some fantastic racing to kick off the season.
Auto Cadet champion Oliver Binns will aim to continue where he left off in 2017 but will have to fend off Harry Fletcher who starts his first full season in the sport.

Shanes beast of the East! Eastern Centre Grasstrack Championships – Race Report & Results
Pouring rain on the eve of Eastern Centre Championships meeting on Sunday was not enough to dampen the spirits of the 500cc Sidecar Association as they hosted an excellent club meeting in preparation for their British Championships event next month. The racing surface, although inevitably being affected by the rain the day before, still held up well and produced fantastic racing across many classes, as racers entered in their droves.

Smolinski wins FIM World FIM Long Track at Herxheim as Shanes Takes Top 5
Local hero Martin Smolinski laid down a marker for his 2018 World Long Track Championship hopes with a strong display to win the first final in Herxheim, Germany. Heavy morning rain had threatened the meeting and the start was delayed for over one hour as the weather improved.
