Lincolnshire Enduro – Non Race Report
Here in the UK, it’s not usual for the country to get hit by the kind of snowfall that stops the local infrastructure. However, twice in quick succession, that’s exactly what has happened. Both times, the snow and high winds seems to have been somewhat centred over Lincolnshire (Good job were not paranoid here in the Wolds !)

With unbelievable bad timing, that weather has dropped on the same weekends as the first two rounds of LEC ‘s 2018 race series. After a lot of hard work behind the scenes, it was with great reluctance that once again, the club deemed it necessary to cancel yet another event at the weekend.
Whilst a lot of riders will have no doubt enjoyed taking up the challenge of riding in the snowdrifts etc, legally, the club is obliged to have paramedics at the race. To that end, the club had no choice but to once again postpone proceedings. As well as the many riders, marshals and support staff stuck in snow en route to the event, the First Aid people were also victims of the “Mini Beast from the East”. (Or as someone else in the media nicknamed it, “Hysteria from Siberia” !)
All being well, the next race (Fingers crossed for no snow, typhoons or tempests !) is still on the pre arranged date of April 8th but will not be at Kirton as planned. It will be at Ashby Puerorum near Horncastle. Any rider that can’t ride on April 8th can contact Gavin Smart at the club and will receive a full refund.
Riders who were entered in Sunday’s race and want to ride on April 8th will have their entry and fees moved to that date automatically. Full details of the club can be found on the Lincolnshire Enduro Club Facebook site https://www.facebook.com/groups/LincolnshireEnduroClub/
