£10’000 prize fund on WOR Events Putoline National Hare Scrambles series!
In a bid to raise the profile of our sport in the UK, WOR are once again doing what they do best, leading the way in innovative and rider rewarding services.
Prize money seems to be a thing of the past in our, lets face it, unrecognised and amateur sport of Hare Scrambles, Enduro’s, Hare and Hound’s and the like in the UK. WOR indeed went through a stage a decade ago of awarding small amounts of prize money and in fact a brand-new bike back in the day to the winning Clubman of a series. The Tough One also is one of the only off-road events in the Country that offers anything like decent Prize money with a £2k purse always won by the winner.
Well things are changing for the WOR flagship championship this year, The PUTOLINE NATIONAL HARE SCRAMBLES (PNHS) will offer a staggering £10k prize fund for the winners in the classes throughout the championship. It’s a push from a very experienced and forward-thinking race promoter and organiser that could just be what Hare Scrambles needs to raise the profile of our fantastic sport along with giving something back to the riders in spades!!
The winning Expert rider will take home a whopping £5000 prize as the overall champion come the end of the series when it finishes in September 2018. The winners of the other classes will all pocket at superb £1000 each for their efforts too making this series a real prestigious one to compete in.
The Championship will run over 9 rounds including a wildcard event and the winner will be the riders with the best 8 scores from the 9 events. All the events are set on fantastic venues and tracks that are the heart and spirit of Hare Scrambles in the UK. Never running on anything but a course worthy of having the WOR stamp on it and with slick, neat organisation along with arguably the best and safest Marshals team in the country, this series is set to stand out and be a cracker this coming spring and summer.
There is no catch and there is no fiction here, the prize money is there and waiting, it is real and ANY rider can win it. It won’t be pulled halfway through the year if numbers drop in the series, it’s a genuine prize from Steve Ireland and the WOR events team. (Expert class conditions will apply- see out box below).
Classes for the PNHS are as follows:
Expert (All top-level riders) = £5000 winner
Clubman = £1000 winner
Veteran Over 40 A (Expert and High-End Clubman Vets) = £1000 winner
Veteran Over 40 B (All other Vets) = £1000 winner
Over 50’s = £1000 winner

Novice & Youth will not receive any prize money as it is not deemed right for children to race for money and the Novice is a non-competitive introduction class and always has been. Prizes will be given instead.

All of the events become available to enter online and via the 07803698061 number approx 3-4 weeks before the events happen.
NB: NOTE TO EXPERT CLASS: Due to the £5000 Winning Expert fee being a lot of money WOR would like to see an established line up of Experts competing for this fund. All EXPERT only riders are asked to register for the series with a £5 paypal payment to show a pledge of support and commitment to the championship. Should the series have an Expert class of less than 10 riders then the £5000 winning fee will be dropped to £2000.
