Professional speedway rider Rob Mear, although the bookies favourite to take the honours, bailed with a chain failure in the crunch A Final. Mear (14 pts) selected the outside gate 5 for the final after being out qualified by fast gating Brandon Freemantle Bfr (15) and organiser Godden (14). His chances came to grinding halt in turn one when his machine stopped. Godden proceeded to win the final after a sharp start followed by Freemantle with first timer Alfie Bowtell in 3rd. Charley Powell at one point in 3rd from the back row finished 4th after progressing from the C final (1st) and then winning the B final (1st) on the works JCPRO machine. Benny Read finished a credible 5th also coming from the B final (2nd) and having 3 heat wins plus a DNF thanks to hard pass by Matt Sauly. Sauly riding in the form of his life but plagued by mechanical gremlins finished the day 9th overall.

A great day was had by all 29 competitors and massive thanks as always to the Iwade team who provided a brilliant track which produced awesome racing.
