It’s a big weekend on the UK Dirt Track calendar as the Indian Motorcycle Hooligan Championships and the DTRA Flat Track Nationals take centre stage of the MCN Festival at the East of England Showground in Peterborough this weekend 19th and 20th May.

The MCN Festival is a huge two day extravaganza of Motorcycling which has been drawn from the ashes of the old BMF Festival.  Through the years, and in the events various guises, Flat Track racing has been showcased here, but with the full weight of the Motorcycle News behind it the spectacle of the DTRA’s Flat Track offering is being given plenty of coverage and will be played out in front of huge crowds in the Main Arena.

If this wasn’t enough the legend Dave Aldana of On any Sunday fame will also be taking part alongside fellow American and Pro Flat Tracker Johnny Lewis who has been in the UK all week running training schools for our nations growing crop of up and coming Flat Track heroes.

Fresh from the Hells Race and Round 2 in Holland the Indian Motorcycles Hooligan Championships will be contested on both days with points up for grabs in rounds 3 and 4 of the series.  Indian Motorcycles factory rider Leah Tokelove dominated the heats in Holland but missed out in the final with the win going to Gary Birthwhistle.  When the gate drops at Peterborough though it could be anyone’s race with a stack of rider’s capable of pulling a win out of the bag.

Young gun Toby Hales was the victor in the first round of the Flat Track National’s but this super talented teenager will have big competition from Gerard Bailio, Greenfield’s George Pickering, and Peterborough veteran Aidan Collins.

If you cannot make the Festival who can watch all of it unfold live via the DTRA facebook page at 12.15 and 2.15pm each day: https://www.facebook.com/DirtTrackRidersAssociationUK/
