Brennan breaks through but Mears takes the title. Pitbike Speedway Finale – Race Report, Results and Final Standings

by adminFebruary 20, 2018

Eastbourne speedway starlet Tom Brennan (17) becomes the fourth GP winner in this seasons 5 round ultra competitive PITBIKE SPEEDWAY World championship series.

Tom coasted home for his first pit bike speedway win ahead of maximum man Edward Kennett, and Rob Mear third. Mear nursing his championship lead to take the overall title and become the first official World motorcycling Champion of 2018.

The missile Charley Powell came home fourth and secured his championship runner’s up position, while Brennan’s excellent performances in the last two rounds catapulted him from near obscurity to finish the championship in third. Benny Read rode another solid performance on his 140cc machine to finish a very credible 4th overall.

Kennett had no answer to Brennan’s speed and defeat was a bitter pill to swallow! Has he been left wondering if his GP domination is over? And what else can money buy?

Connor Dugard rode himself into the A final via a second to Powell in the B final with Mr Divebomb Little in 3rd.

Dugard however has been out of action after suffering a nasty ACL injury nearly 2 years ago playing the girls sport of soccer, and the self acclaimed UK No1 Mark Richardson has not only reality to deal with but a blown motor as well.

#SuperMerio is World champion!!

Pitbike Speedway would like to thank as always their hosts at Iwade speedway for all of their hard work and effort.

Sandy Russell for handling their points scoring,  Scott Pritchard  for programme assistance and Garry Shorter for his excellent photography.
