BAGBIE BAGS THE WIN! Manx Grass and Sand Enduro Club Quad Enduro – Report and Results

by adminAugust 6, 2018
The fantastic Manx Grass and Sand Enduro club held their quad enduro at the stunning  location of Ballaspit Farm on the East coast line of the Isle of Man in very pleasant weather conditions.
Report and Images by Neil Martin aka Martino 371

22 quad riders took to line with a 3 hour race on a 7 mile course over open going, moor land, deep ditches, a stream crossing, forestry tracks, with man made jumps to add to the excitement.  Fun was the order of the day.

The event came under the ACU banner and it was a very professionally organised, with the club putting in hours of work in preparing the course so 10/10 to everyone involved.
The only crash of the day was a magnificent 10/10 for effort to Michael Kelly when he rolled his Suzuki king quad down a very step hill in the forestry sector which ended his day in spectacular fashion.  (see photo)
The solo quad class was very competitive with Ben BAGBIE taking the win on 8 laps, 2nd was Tom Connell on  8 laps, and 3rd was Jim Evans with 8 laps.   Well done to everyone in this class as it was tough going at times for the 2 wheel guys
The two man team saw Mike Kerruish/Hargreaves take the win with 7 laps. In 2nd was McAllister/Tom Knight on 7 laps (on a 200cc Yamaha Blaster), and 3rd was Burnett/Curphey on 7 laps.
The 4×4 class was won by Mr Fabulous Jason Wildman on his factory Polaris 1000cc on 8 laps with 2nd going to Neil Martino on 8 laps, and 3rd was Andy Keenan on 7 laps.
All in all an absolutely brilliant days riding with 4 racers making it over to the island for the enduro. A special  thank you to Mike Kerruish for making us all feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble. I strongly recommend you try this event next year as it was one of the best enduro’s  I have ever been to. If you fancy  doing this next year give me a shout on facebook  and I will happily give you the details on how to get there and book in … See  you soon Martino 371
